Activities Spotlight: One Act

One Act recently competed in three large competitions, the Kearney Invitational, the Conference Competition, and the District Competition. At these competitions, we received 19 Superior Acting Awards, a Runner-Up Place (Kearney), and the 1st Place Tech Award (Kearney). Raymond Central’s One Act team has the great strength of working together. Each person knows they are a part of an ensemble and performs as one unit. You can see that they all turn into each other, help each other out, and work together to perform a cohesive and impressive show each time. This was evident when the team came together at Districts to cover a large character role in an emergency situation. They worked together and made the show just as amazing, and even placed in the top 4, which is a huge accomplishment! After such a successful season, we are happy to announce that the drama department won’t be slowing down - it is time to begin the Spring Musical! This year Raymond Central will be doing The Spongebob Musical. This high-energy play is based on a popular television series with songs written by your favorite artists, such as John Legend, Panic! at the Disco, David Bowie, Plain White T’s, Lady Antebellum, and more! Auditions are just around the corner - come audition in the Music Room on December 18th at 4:00 PM or 6:00 PM, or December 19th at 6:00 PM!
