FFA

FFA has done some exciting things recently, including Greehand Day and the State Fair. They had freshman members of the Central FFA chapter attend Greenhand Day at Central Community College. At the event, the students went to all different stations to learn about the events they were qualified to participate in. The students learned about the proper ways to wear official dress. The senior officers also had the opportunity to experience this event and expand their knowledge of FFA. The Nebraska State Fair was very successful for individuals and for the Central FFA chapter. All of the members that competed were awarded a blue ribbon or better. Addison Grant - reserve overall Junior Showman, Morgan Kliment - champion Junior High Showman, Bailey Grant - Reserve Champion Foundational Simmental Heifer, Burke Settles - champion Senior Showman, Champion Middleweight Market Goat, Reserve Champion Overall, Lydia Donahue - Reserve Champion Breeding Duroc Gilt, Jolee Kliment - Grand Champion Market Spot Gilt, Carlee Wolfe - Champion Junior Showman, Grand Champion Duroc Market Barrow, Reserve Champion Purebred Market Barrow, Jaelynn Kliment - Champion Senior Showmanship. FFA has two upcoming events that we are encouraging you to join. The October meeting and "Feed a Farmer". Overall, this year the Central FFA has 60 members involved in the chapter. They have a lot of younger members that joined this year. All of the students that are involved are very intrigued by the competitions and the events that are hosted in surrounding areas. To add on, the FFA Parliamentary Procedure team got first at the State Convention in Lincoln, NE in April. This year they have the opportunity to go to Indianapolis Indiana for the National Convention where they will compete against other teams that qualified for Nationals. Good luck to them!
