School Counseling
I presently serve as:
Elementary Counselor
Coordinator of SCIP program (School/Community Intervention Program)
Coordinator of the TEAMMATES program
Member of The Crisis Response Team
As a Counselor I:
Do individual and small group counseling
Serve as a consultant to staff and parents
Go into the classrooms and work with all the students on preventive and developmental needs
I work with individual students and small groups in these areas:
building self-esteem
academic concerns
coping with death or loss
changing self-destructive behaviors
friendship skills
social skills
dealing with changes in the family
resolving conflicts and problem solving skills
