Our Evaluation Framework arranges and structures knowledge and skills into categories. It clarifies what to do but not how to do it. The below instructional model is the “how to.” This model is not framed around steps teachers take to guide instruction but steps students take to engage in deep learning. This is not a script to follow but a spring-board to more intentional and creative teaching.
Below are the six phases of learning (not necessarily linear) and teaching strategies (grounded in the science of learning). The point is to design learning based on how students’ brains work.
