This week's staff spotlight: Mrs. Potter
Mrs. Potter grew up and went to high school in Grand Island. In high school, she was a cheerleader for 3 years. She was also heavily involved in our school music department. She was in show choir, concert choir, and in our school musical for 3 years. She later moved to Lincoln for college and met her husband. He grew up in Valparaiso and they knew that when we were ready to raise a family, they wanted to be a part of the same community that he grew up in. Mrs. Potter and her husband have 2 children who now go to the same school that their dad and grandfather both went to. As a family, they have two dogs together, Millie and Walter. Of course, they love Mrs. Potter most of all! When Mrs. Potter’s children were young, she stayed home with them for quite some time and then started her in-home daycare. When her children were in school, she continued the daycare. After some time, she realized she craved interactions with kids who could converse back with her more. She wanted to be a part of helping junior high/high school students navigate their way through school by helping them with the learning process. She also shows them what they are capable of and that they are important and cared about. Her favorite things to do in her free time are reading, going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite movie is Steele Magnolias and her favorite tv show is Friends! Mrs. Potter’s favorite foods are hamburgers and key lime pie! Her greatest strength is being a kind and caring person. If she wrote a book about her life, she would title it “Tales of a Para, You won’t believe it!” Her favorite superhero is Thor! Finally, she would love to go to Norway and Ireland so she could see where her ancestors are from. Thank you Mrs. Potter for everything you do for Raymond Central!
