Education has always been central in my life. With both parents dedicating their careers to kids, it was natural for me to pursue teaching. From the first day of my Introduction to Education Course at Doane University with Dr. Marilyn Johnson-Farr, I knew education was the most rewarding profession and I was excited to begin my journey. We have a lot of exciting things that happen every day at Raymond Central Public Schools. The Raymond Central Community is committed to providing a positive, challenging learning environment which prepares each individual student to be a responsible citizen in an ever-changing society. Our staff works hard to ensure our mission statement is more than words on the wall, but instead how we choose to operate on a day-to-day basis. Our staff builds positive relationships with our students and works as collaborative teams for the success of all students. My family and I are proud to call ourselves Mustangs! I have served the students and communities of Raymond Central since July 2017. I began my educational career as a social studies teacher and coach for Tri County Public Schools in DeWitt. During my time at Tri County, I met my wife, Kari, who was a professional school counselor around the Des Moines Metro. After meeting Kari, I moved to Iowa where I was a taught and coached for Ankeny Community Schools, eventually serving as Assistant Principal for Ankeny High School. I also served as High School Principal at North Polk High School located in Alleman, Iowa, just north of Ankeny. I hold my Bachelor of Arts degree from Doane College, Master of Education degree from Iowa State, and both my Superintendent's Certificate and Doctorate Degree from Drake University. Kari and I have three amazing children, Jackson (5), Charlotte (3), and Vivian (1).
