SUGGESTED DONATION SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST
FOR 2009-2010

In order to assist parents in beating the August rush for buying fall school supplies we have compiled a list of materials teachers are suggesting that your children bring in the fall.  Although we cannot anticipate every supply need at this time, these are the major items teachers have suggested.  Hope this is helpful!

 

KINDERGARTEN (Bohac):  2 boxes 24 count crayons, 4 large glue sticks (Elmer’s brand), 1 small bottle of Elmer’s glue, 6 Expo dry erase markers, 2 boxes of Crayola washable markers, plastic pencil box, 2 spiral notebooks (wide ruled), 1 box of tissues, scissors (Fiskars), plastic shoe sized tub with lid (usually cost around $1) and a backpack to transport papers back & forth between school and home.

 

KINDERGARTEN (Rager):  2 boxes (24 count) crayons, 2 small bottles of Elmer’s glue (4 oz size), 6 Expo dry erase markers (fat, not fine point), 2 boxes washable Crayola Markers (8-10 pack), 2 spiral notebooks (wide ruled), 1 box of tissues, 1 pair of scissors (Fiskars are the most durable), 24 sharpened pencils, 1 pink eraser, 1 pocket folder and 1 backpack (needed daily).

 

1st GRADE:  2 boxes of Crayons (24 count or less), 2 large glue sticks, 1 box Crayola markers, 1 box of tissues, 1 spiral notebook (wide ruled) and 4 Expo brand dry erase markers.

 

2nd GRADE:  1 spiral notebook (wide ruled), 1 box of tissues, 2  boxes crayons (24 count), 4 glue sticks, 2 Expo brand dry erase markers and 4 AA batteries.

 

3rd GRADE:  Pencils with erasers (as needed), extra pencil top erasers, a big eraser, colored pencils and markers, 1 pocket folder, 1 spiral notebook for journaling, and 1 box of tissues (175-200 count),   2 chisel tip black expo dry erase markers.

 

4th GRADE:  2 notebooks (Personal Journal), #2 pencils with erasers, crayons, magic markers or colored pencils, 1 box of tissues (175-200 count), 2 packages of loose leaf paper, glue stick, scissors, 4 Expo brand dry erase markers and $4.00 for assignment book (make separate check payable to RCPS).  Do not get an assignment book.  We will have them available the first day of class so all class members have the same type.

 

5th GRADE:  3 packages of #2 pencils, pencil top erasers, crayons or colored pencils, markers, 2 boxes of tissues, a bottle of glue, glue stick, 3 packages wide-rule loose leaf paper, 4 Expo brand dry erase markers, a protractor, a pair of scissors, a calculator, a centimeter ruler, 2 different color pocket folders, 2 spiral notebooks and $4.00 for assignment book (make separate check payable to RCPS).  Do not get an assignment book.  We will have them available the first day of class so all class members have the same type.

 

6th GRADE AT VAL:  $4.00 for assignment book (make separate check payable to RCPS), pencils, pencil top erasers, colored pencils, pens, 8 Expo dry erase markers, 1 highlighter, 1 pack watercolor markers, 1 inexpensive calculator, 1 protractor, 2 packages of wide-rule loose leaf 200 count paper, 4 single subject spiral notebooks, 2 boxes of Kleenex, 5 (different color) pocket folders,  1 trapper, pencil pouch insert for 3-ring trapper or binder.  Backpacks need to be standard size, (no duffel bags).

KINDERGARTEN: 2 jumbo glue sticks,  2 regular size box of Kleenex, crayons (small size, 16 ct.), 8 count washable classic color markers, dry erase markers (Expo brand only),1 shoe box and a standard size backpack, no duffel bags.

 

1st GRADE: 2 spiral notebooks (wide-ruled), 2 glue sticks, crayons and/or colored pencils, markers, 2 regular size boxes of Kleenex, #2 pencils, dry erase markers (Expo brand only), 1-box Ziploc bags-gallon size, 4-two pocket folders (1 of each color-red, blue, green, yellow) and 1-“design of choice”  two-pocket folder, 4- pack of AA batteries, and a standard size backpack (no duffel bags).

 

2nd GRADE: Pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, 4 spiral notebooks for journal writing, a box of colored pencils, 5-2 pocket folders, a regular size box of Kleenex, hand sanitizer, 2 Expo dry erase markers, and a jumbo size glue stick.  Please do not bring Trapper Keepers or large notebooks since we do not have room to store them.  Also no pencil toppers, regular erasers only.  $4.00 to purchase an assignment book.  Standard size backpacks only, no duffel bags.

 

3rd GRADE: Pencils, erasers, 1 box of crayon, 1-pencil box, markers, 2-spiral notebooks for journal writing (approx. 70 pages each, wide rule), 1 box of colored pencils, 1 regular size box of Kleenex, 2 glue sticks, 3-“design of choice” pocket folders, and 1-red, 1-blue and 1-green pocket folder  with 3-hole tabs, 2 Expo dry erase markers, & $4.00 to purchase an assignment book.  Please do not bring Trapper Keepers or large notebooks since we do not have room to store them.

 

4th GRADE: Pencils, pens, erasers, crayons, scissors, colored pencils, markers, calculator, ruler, 4 Expo dry erase markers, 2 glue sticks, 2 packs 3-hole punched loose leaf paper (wide-ruled), 5 pocket folders, 4 spiral notebooks, $4.00 to purchase a class assignment book and 2 boxes of regular size Kleenex.  Backpacks need to be standard size, (no duffel bags).

 

5th GRADE-#2 pencils (please continue to supply throughout year), erasers, 3 ink pens (red, purple, or green; NOT BLACK, please), 2 glue sticks, 1 yellow highlighter, 4 dry erase markers,  Crayons or markers (basic set), Colored pencils (8-16 colors), 10 single-subject spiral notebooks (2 each red, blue, green, purple, yellow), 10 pocket folders (2 each red, blue, green, purple, yellow), 1 “design of choice” pocket folder, 2 regular boxes of Kleenex, 2 packages 3-hole punched loose leaf paper (200 count, wide-ruled), scissors, 12-inch wooden ruler, $4.00 for assignment book.  ***Backpacks should be standard size.  No trappers, please.
