SUGGESTED DONATION SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST FOR 2011-2012

In order to assist parents in beating the August rush for buying fall school supplies we have compiled a list of materials teachers are suggesting that your children bring in the fall. Although we cannot anticipate every supply need at this time, these are the major items teachers have suggested. Hope this is helpful!

KINDERGARTEN: 2 boxes 24 count crayons, 4 large glue sticks (Elmer’s brand), 1 small glue (Elmer’s brand), 6 Expo dry erase markers, 1 pencil eraser, 2 boxes of Crayola washable markers, plastic pencil box, 2 spiral notebooks (wide ruled), 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), 1 box of tissues, 1 box of zip lock sandwich bags, scissors, and a backpack to transport papers back & forth between school and home.

1st GRADE: 2 boxes of Crayons (24 count or less), 3 large glue sticks, 1 box Crayola markers, 1 box of tissues, 1 spiral notebook (wide ruled) 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), and 4 Expo brand dry erase markers, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.

2nd GRADE (Hudson): 1 spiral notebook (wide ruled), 2 boxes of tissues, 2 boxes of crayons (24 count), 4 glue sticks, 2 big erasers, 2 Expo brand dry erase markers and 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled).

2nd GRADE (Schoenberner): 2 boxes of Crayons (24 count or less), 4 large glue sticks, 2 boxes Crayola washable markers, 2 box of tissues, 1 spiral notebook (wide ruled) and 2 Expo brand dry erase markers, 4 pocket folders (plastic or vinyl not paper and no middle fasteners), 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), scissors, pencils with erasers (as needed), extra pencil top erasers, a big eraser.

3rd GRADE: Pencils with erasers (as needed), extra pencil top erasers, a big eraser, colored pencils and markers, 1 pocket folder, 2 large glue sticks, a black fine point marker, 1 spiral notebook for journaling, 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), and 2 boxes of tissues (175-200 count), 2 chisel tip black expo dry erase markers.

4th GRADE: $4.25 for assignment book (make check payable to RCPS), 3 notebooks (Personal & Math Journal), #2 pencils with erasers, crayons, magic markers or colored pencils, 1 box of tissues (175-200 count), 2 packages of loose leaf paper, 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), glue stick, scissors, 4 Expo brand dry erase markers, and 4 different colored pocket folders.

5th GRADE: $4.25 for assignment book (make check payable to RCPS), 1 package of #2 pencils, crayons or colored pencils, markers, 1 box of tissues, glue stick, 1 package wide-rule loose leaf paper, 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), 8 Expo brand dry erase markers, a protractor, a pair of scissors, a calculator, 6 bottom pocket folders, and 3 spiral notebooks.

6th GRADE AT VAL: $4.25 for assignment book (make check payable to RCPS), pencils, pencil top erasers, colored pencils, pens (no black), 8 Expo dry erase markers, 1 highlighter, 1 pack watercolor markers, 1 inexpensive calculator, 1 protractor, 2 packages of wide-rule loose leaf 200 count paper, 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), 5 single subject spiral notebooks, 2 boxes of Kleenex, 5 (different color) pocket folders, 1 folder with prongs, 1 trapper, pencil pouch insert for 3-ring trapper or binder. Backpacks need to be standard size, (no duffel bags).

KINDERGARTEN: 2 jumbo glue sticks, 3 regular size box of Kleenex, crayons (small size, 16 ct.), 8 count washable classic color markers, #2 pencils, Ziploc sandwich baggies, 6 two-pocket folders (1 each red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple), plastic pencil box (approx 8 x 5), 1 shoe box, 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled) and a standard size backpack, no duffel bags.

1^st GRADE: 2 spiral notebooks (wide-ruled), 2 glue sticks, crayons and/or colored pencils, markers, 2 regular size boxes of Kleenex, #2 pencils, 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), dry erase markers (Expo brand only), 4-two pocket folders (1 of each color-red, blue, green, yellow) and 1-“design of choice” two-pocket folder, 4- pack of AA batteries, and a standard size backpack (no duffel bags).

2^nd GRADE: Pencils, erasers, crayons-(box of 24 count), markers-(box of 12 count), 4 spiral notebooks for journal writing, a box of colored pencils, 5-2 pocket folders, 1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), 2 regular size boxes of Kleenex, hand sanitizer, 4-Expo dry erase markers, 1- regular size pencil box and a jumbo size glue stick. No pencil toppers, regular erasers only and $4.25 to purchase an assignment book. Standard size backpacks only, no duffel bags. Please do not bring Trapper Keepers or large notebooks since we do not have room to store them.

Backpacks need to be standard size, (no duffel bags).

5^th GRADE: Pencils (please continue to supply throughout year), erasers, 2 ink pens for checking (NOT BLACK or BLUE, please), 1 glue stick, 1 yellow highlighter, 4 dry erase markers, Crayons or markers (basic set), Colored pencils (8-16 colors), 6 single-subject spiral notebooks* - wide ruled (1 each red, blue, green, purple, yellow, black), 6 pocket folders to match notebooks (1 each red, blue, green, purple, yellow, black), 1 “design of choice” pocket folder, 2 regular boxes of Kleenex, 1 package 3-hole punched loose leaf paper (200 count, wide-ruled),1 ream of 8 x 11.5 white copier paper (not recycled), 12-inch wooden ruler, and $4.25 for assignment book.

*It may be necessary to replace with a second notebook during the year.
