                                                                       Tornado Park

Valparaiso is filled with three parks which have been highly enjoyed by the community.  The Tornado Park is located on the east side of town along with the school playground.  The Tornado Park is made up of a tennis court and a picnic area.   The Shady Park is located on the west side of town with a train caboose which is highly enjoyed as well. park99_a.gif (38932 bytes)

GRANT AID

A grant in the amount of $38,000 was being used for ball park renovation at Valparaiso in the fall of 1981.  These funds were from the Interior Dept. Land and Water Conservation Fund.  This represented only half of the project costs.  Much work was accomplished on the ball diamond during 1982.   A beautiful area for use by residents is the result.

Shady Park

Shady Park is one of the three parks at Valparaiso.  It is located on the west side of town.   A Union Pacific Railroad caboose adds to the park and is highly enjoyed by the people of Val.

 

The Trail

The Oak Creek Recreational Trail ia a great place to take a nice walk, run, or bikeride.  Many of Valparaiso's citizens enjoy it.  The trail starts at Valparaiso, goes through Loma and finishes at Brainard.  It's a very popular part of everbody's summer activities.  It was finished in 1994.

 

Soccer Field

 The Soccer Field has been a huge part of Val's recreation.   It was finished in 1997 and has been used ever since.  It has been the practice feild to many young kids of Val that are playing soccer.  It is located on the west side of town.
