The closest access to a local hospital is in Wahoo, Nebraska. Residents of the Village of Ceresco also have excellent access to medical facilities in Lincoln, Nebraska approximately 25 miles South of Valparaiso. Facilities include St. Elizabeth Community Health Center, Lincoln General Hospital, Bryan Memorial Hospital, Veterans Administration Medical Center, and the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.
The Valaparaiso Rural Fire Department District provides emergency fire and rescue services to the Village of Valparaiso and the surrounding community. Valparaiso has a very well qualified volunteer staff of people, who are very experienced in these types of high pressure situations.
Rich Fletcher is Valparaiso's Fire Chief and Rescue Chief. EMT's are a part of the Valparaiso rescue team. The rescue squad offers the service of an automated Defibrillator.
